Old Subway Cars Give Life to Coral Reefs
As pollution and global warming increase, so does the damage to existing coral reefs. However, through the use of retired subway cars from New York, new reefs are coming to life.
Coral Reefs cannot form just anywhere; they need something to attach to. These aluminum subway cars are prefect for this purpose. A new reef is being born 16 miles off the coast of New York. This area was once an undersea desert, but with the addition of these 714 Subway cars, it is now turning into quite the undersea ecosystem.
