Alfred Williams born in 1937 never had a chance to go to school. Instead he spent his Childhood working in the fields with his dad picking potato's, cabbage, and other crops.
His life is now changing as he is in his second year of school at Edison Elementary School in St. Joseph, MO. His newly found educational career began in 2005 when he was walking his friends children to school, and he Ran into a teacher from the elementary school,Alesia Hamilton. That summer Alesia helped Alfred for 2 hours a day all summer. At the end of the Summer Alesia spoke with the principal of the school, and Alfred was enrolled in her First Grade class. The other Children see Alfred as a grandfather figure, and he helps them to be excited about learning.
