250 Megawatt solar array in Southern California
Southern California Edison has announced plans to build a 250 Megawatt solar array spanning approximately 2 square miles on the roof tops of commercial buildings.
This solar array will cost about 875 Million dollars over the next five years. The solar panels will produce enough electricity to accommodate 167,000 homes.
This will bring California one step closer to the mandate that 20% of California's power be produced using renewable resources by the year 2010
